Colours are dispersed in groups, which are then combined to create a consistent hue. Quality control procedures are carried out throughout the manufacturing process, both on the groups and the final blend. The pigment pastes produced are compared to a standard sample from a master lot. A final check is made to ensure that the colour matches the standard lot. Depending on the end product, a fibreglass laminate, epoxy potting, or foam is created to evaluate the colour. To compare the produced lot to the standard sample, specialised equipment is used. We have established an in-house laboratory to conduct testing on polyurethane foams.

Likewise, in civil applications, epoxy floor coatings, corrosion-resistant coatings, aisles, gangways, shop-floor, and storage areas are colored using various pigments for differentiation and visual appeal.

In chemical plants, it is customary to use different colors for pigmentation in hot air, steam, and oil lines, as well as cooling water lines. Therefore, pigments used in epoxy systems must not only be compatible, but also possess the high-performance characteristics of epoxy resins. DIGI-CHROME color pastes for epoxy resins are specifically formulated to impart these unique properties, ensuring they blend seamlessly and exhibit the desired performance in epoxy resin applications.

The DIGI-CHROME color pastes are created by combining heat-resistant pigment powders to ensure that the color remains stable even during elevated temperature curing associated with exothermic epoxy cross-linking.

Pigments For Polyurethane Resins

DIGI-CHROME color pastes for Polyurethane foams are formulated with high-quality pigments dispersed in polyether polyols with varying molecular weights to color PU foam of different densities. The choice of dispersing medium and pigment chemical nature is crucial due to the numerous variables involved in the foaming process. The polyether polyol used as the carrier in DIGI-CHROME color pastes is reactive and becomes fully integrated into the foam during the foaming process (slab stock), without altering the physical properties of the final foam, even at high use levels.

The DIGI-CHROME color palette encompasses a wide range of variants in RED, YELLOW, ORANGE, GREEN, BLUE, VIOLET, and BLACK, offering a plethora of exciting new shades to choose from. This sets it apart from imported color pastes and colorants that typically offer only a limited number of primary colors (4-5). Users do not need to engage in trial-and-error mixing of limited primary colors to achieve their desired shade. All colors are manufactured to a tolerance of CIELAB D.E.1 from a master standard.

Our prompt response to customer color matching requests is renowned, with our in-house Test Foaming laboratory handling new shade or color requests quickly. Users do not need to invest in expensive computer-controlled color matching equipment. They can simply request from us the exact quantity of any color they need.

DIGI-CHROME color pastes are compatible with a wide variety of additives and can be used not only for Flexible Foams but also for Integral Skin and Rigid Foams, without affecting the appearance and physical properties of the final foam.

The reactive polyether polyol used as the vehicle in DIGI-CHROME color pastes makes the pigment paste an integral part of the foam, ensuring that the appearance and physical properties of the final foam remain unaffected.

DIGI-CHROME color pastes for PU Foam are preferred in applications such as Cushioning, Automotive Accessories, Packaging, Electronics, and Appliances, among others.
